The Bureau of Health Care Quality and
Compliance, an agency within the State
Health Division, Department of Health
and Human Services, will hold a public
workshop to consider amendments to
Chapters 457 and 459 of the Nevada
Administrative Code (NAC). These
proposed amendments are scheduled to be
heard by the State Board of Health on
April 9, 2010.
The proposed changes to NAC 457 will
include provisions for denial,
suspension, or withdrawal of a
Certificate of Authorization,
requirements to comply with the
radiation control provisions in NAC
459.010 through 459.166; NAC
459.320-459.664 and NAC 459.780-459.794
and a requirement to notify the Health
Division within 30 days of discovery of
any violation to NAC 457 or NAC 459. The
proposed amendments will change NAC 459
to be compatible with the regulation of
the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The proposed revisions also address
electronic (x-ray) brachytherapy
requirements.
The workshop is scheduled to begin at
9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 25,
2010, and be conducted via
videoconference between the following

The State Health Division will hold
public workshops to consider amendment
to Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 629.
The Carson City workshop is scheduled to
begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Council of Podiatric Medical
Education is scheduled to have a meeting
in April to consider proposed revisions
to CPME Documents 320, Standards and
Requirements for Approval of Residencies
in Podiatric Medicine and CPME 330,
Procedures for Approval of Residencies
in Podiatric Medicine. All comments must
be received in the Council office by
April 1, 2010. Comments may be e-mailed
